Its palmate, feathery, lacy foliage is finely dissected, lime green in spring, green with red tinge in summer, and golden, orange, and red in autumn. This plant is very unique because its the only dissected form of Japanese maple with an upright habit (instead of domed or weeping). Its vase based shape becomes rounder over the years.
